Then, the Nazis demanded that the little riders be melted down for their metal. ![]() The twelve metal riders on horseback came out of the church tower every hour as the clock chimed, and Johanna always made sure to be in her bedroom window at noon to see them perform. Something she really loves is watching the little riders. She was sent there to stay for just a short time while her mother went on a voyage with her seafaring father, but when World War II broke out she was stuck for the duration. Johanna is living with her grandparents in Holland. I always love it when we get around to reading this one again. I have always loved The Little Riders! This story is a special one, very sweet. Synopsis: When the Nazis try to take the town’s precious treasure, Johanna and her grandparents must find a way to save the riders. ![]()
